Melvin Jones Lions Eye Hospital
All Lion members of our club and across the entire District are extremely proud of the establishment of “Melvin Jones Lions Eye Hospital” by the Lions Club of Cuttack. It stands as a monumental achievement and has brought immense laurels and recognition to the Lions of Odisha.
Our Hospital has been working very smoothly and successfully for the last 20 years. On average, about 100 patients visit our OPD daily, and we currently perform approximately 200 cataract surgeries per month. Earlier, when outreach surgical camps were fully active, our metrics hovered around 500 surgeries per month.
Today, we are equipped with all modern and advanced clinical equipment to treat patients facing cataract-related vision problems. However, advanced retinopathy surgery and diagnostics equipment could not be acquired yet due to the heavy capital cost involved and a lack of designated space. We hope to locate a permanent, viable solution for this in the near future.
We have a highly dedicated team of Doctors who are recognized experts in their respective fields, treating all patients with the utmost sympathy, dedication, and clinical expertise. Complementing them, we have a highly efficient, work-oriented paramedical and administrative staff of around 50 members.
We, the Eye Hospital team, seek the continued cooperation and patronage of all our Lions members to take this hospital to newer heights and successfully transform it into a premium, comprehensive super-specialty eye care unit in the future.
